2020 – 2021

These years felt like the song “What Would You Do?” by City High. Caught in the “in and out of lockdown” cycle and facing the reality of furlough, I found myself with a sudden surplus of time. I used this period to diversify, moving toward commercial accessibility. This led to a YouTube channel, a successful range of “Fuzzy Pet” greeting cards, and digital packaging designs for scented candles. However, this era also marked a deep dive into mindfulness—researching crystals, tarot, and art psychology. I began to consider an academic path in these fields, which shifted how I approached the canvas. I found myself moving away from the control of realism toward the distortion of memory. To me, realism can feel rigid, whereas memory allows for a more personal interpretation. For instance, while some see a tree as a static object, I see a symbol of life—a breathing entity that changes with the seasons just as we do. My work now explores the ambiguity of the mind, moving past “book logic” to look within for a true connection to the self.

To make these years easier to digest I have categories them by media rather than date.
