I took my artwork over to Les and Viv's to give them a private viewing and in return I got to explore their beautiful garden.
Les and Viv are people who live freely, unbound by limitations. Vivienne has an extraordinary empathy and a deep appreciation for others. Speaking with her about art and mindfulness was a true pleasure. I felt a strong connection when she described the calm she finds in nature — a sense of ultimate peace, where each glance reveals something new.
Les, a retired carpenter, guided me through their pride and joy: the garden. Hidden amongst the trees, this magical zen sanctuary embodies their 40 years of life together. He reminisced about journeys taken in search of rare plants, and how his creative mind allows him to visualise each project before it begins — a skill honed through openness to imagination and craft.
Together, Les and Viv have created a home and garden that radiate love, creativity, and serenity. Their pride is unmistakable, and rightly so. Before I left, they invited me to return when the flowers are in full bloom — an invitation I look forward to accepting.
