The images are from a time when I had just left school and started studying Art and Design at college. There’s a lot of work from this period that is missing. I don’t think I truly believed I would live much longer.
I would frequently have dreams of a zombie apocalypse and even hoped something drastic like that would happen, because the world just didn’t feel quite right to me.
We are only limited by our own beliefs, which I imagine is why I felt so aimless.
Then I created this piece—the two tribal elephants—and it gave me strength. I stopped procrastinating, stopped beating myself up, and picked myself up. I started applying myself.
I had just built a world—a world of my own.
